*Please note that ESP is operating at reduced capacity during Fall 2026*
ESP is open to collaboration with the following groups:
- Faculty & Postdoctoral Scholars
- Administrators
- Dissertation-Writers
We expect faculty-led review teams to do the following:
- Complete a study protocol prior to screening articles. Making the protocol publicly available at this time via a registry (PROSPERO), repository (OSF), or publication is highly encouraged.
- Disseminate the evidence synthesis product in an academic journal or monograph.
- List the evidence synthesis librarian and any librarian apprentices as authors of resulting works.
- Deposit a copy of the manuscript in ScholarWorks, the UMass Amherst institutional repository.
We expect dissertators and their advisors to do the following:
- Confirm that their level of experience and training are suitable for conducting evidence synthesis methodologies in the dissertation project.
- Advisors shall explicitly approve of collaborating with the Evidence Synthesis Partnership for the purpose of developing the search strategy.
- Submit a thorough intake request form that includes all pertinent details needed to develop the search strategy. Dissertators are highly encouraged to record the information provided in the request form as a study protocol to be made publicly available.
- Acknowledge the evidence synthesis librarian in the dissertation. If the dissertation is subsequently published in an academic journal or monograph, the evidence synthesis librarian should be credited as an author.
- Deposit a copy of the manuscript in ScholarWorks, the UMass Amherst institutional repository.
Please tell us about your project via the intake form!
